Apple received more than 79% of the profits in the smartphone market last year
We have previously reported that in the fourth quarter of last year, Apple was granted 92% of the profits in the global smartphone market. New data from Strategy Analytics indicate that in 2016 the share of profit that belongs to Apple, was 79.2%.
According to Strategy Analytics, last year the global smartphone market has generated 53.7 billion dollars in profit, of which 44.9 billion dollars went to Apple. Analysts say Apple’s amazing ability to minimize production costs and to sell their products at high prices.
Samsung Electronics has received 8.3 billion dollars or 14.6% of the profits in the smartphone market last year.
Third place with a share of 1.6% went to Huawei, followed by Oppo and Vivo, which owns a 1.5% and 1.3% respectively.
