Apple employees arrested in China for selling personal customer data

Chinese law enforcement authorities confirmed that they had identified a «large-scale illegal activities of Apple employees who sold the personal data of users of computers and phones.»

In four regions of the country was arrested a total of 22 people, 20 of whom were Apple employees used the internal computer system of the company to obtain user names, phone numbers, Apple IDs and other data. Data collected malefactors sold. Their total earnings amounted to of 7.36 million.

The source said that the actions of Apple employees were their own initiative contrary to the Apple rules relating to the protection of customer privacy.
