Appeared preliminary data on the Olympus macro lens, announcement of which is expected on 19 September
The first information that Olympus is going to release a short throw lens for macro photography, appeared in may. And though already then it was said that the lens will be presented in the near future, it has not happened yet. Now the source has published more specific information about the new product, including the date of the announcement.
As stated, the lens Micro Four Thirds system will have a focal length of 30 mm (EGF 60 mm) and a maximum aperture of F/3.5. It will be slightly longer than shown in the illustration of the model M. Zuiko Digital 25mm F1.8, the length of which is known to equal 42 mm.
As the M. Zuiko Digital 25mm F1.8, the new lens is designed for filters with a diameter of 46 mm. When shooting at the minimum focusing distance of 2 cm (obviously, you can see the distance to the front element), there will be scale 1:1,25.
According to preliminary data, the novelty will cost no more than $400.
Announcement lens is expected during the press conference, scheduled Olympus on September 19. Presumably, the same will be announced lenses 25mm F/1.2 Pro and 14-100mm F/4.0 Pro.
