Announced e-book Sony DPT-RP1 with E Ink screen with a resolution of 2200 x 1650 pixels
Company Sony, which announced recently on the establishment of a joint venture with E Ink, presented a new e-book — DPT-RP1. Novelty is a further development of the model DPT-S1, one of the most unusual e-books present.
Externally DPT-RP1 difficult to see any radical changes, but on the technical side of the changes enough. The most notable — passion-resolution touch screen up to 2200 x 1650 pixels under the previous diagonal of 13.3 inches.
The DPT-S1 is built on a single-chip system Marvell IAP 140, that has four cores ARM Cortex-A53 with a frequency of 1.2 GHz. Also in the configuration of the device 16 GB of internal flash memory, adapters Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, NFC and Bluetooth 4.2.
DPT-RP1 was noticeably leaner model DPT-S1: dimensions of new items is 302,6 x 224 x 5.9 mm vs 233 x 310 x 6.8 mm for the DPT-S1. Weight — 349 grams vs 360. But on the part of autonomy no change: maximum life is up to three a week with Wi-Fi off. The inclusion of wireless communication reduces the autonomy of one week.
Sony DPT-RP1 will go on sale in Japan on the fifth of June. The estimated cost of this e-book is $730.
