AMD Ryzen 5 2500U surprised by the result in Geekbench
In Geekbench database appeared the results of testing the AMD Ryzen 5 2500U. It’s a Quad core APU, clocked at 2 GHz and the GPU contains Vega in an unknown configuration.
This processor is gaining 3561 score in a single-threaded test and 9421 score in multithreaded. It is more interesting that previously we have seen the result Ryzen 7 2700U (2.2 GHz), which was equal to 3495 and 5034 points, respectively.
And if a small increase in single threaded performance at a lower frequency can be explained fresher engineering samples and, consequently, better optimization, almost a twofold increase in multithreaded performance is really surprising.
For comparison, CPU Core i7-7660U with two cores, clocked at 2.8 to 3.9 GHz, and is gaining 4412 8736 points, respectively.
