Amazon was the market leader of wireless speaker systems at the end of last year
Analysts Strategy Analytics has estimated the market for wireless home speaker systems. In the past year the world has sold 14 million units, which is 62% higher than a year earlier.
The leader in this market, oddly enough, an Amazon company, which managed to sell about 5 million devices, an increase in annual terms by 77%. On the second place company Sonos with 4 million sold devices.
Interestingly, in 2014, about 50% of the market occupied by Sonos. Although the device Amazon Echo is designed primarily not for music, their popularity clearly had an impact on the former leaders of the segment.
Without specifying details, the source also notes that a relatively significant market share last year was occupied by Bose, Harman/JBL, Denon, Sony and Google. But, as you can see in the diagram, they are all significantly inferior to the two leaders.
