Alphabet closed the project stratospheric drones Titan Aerospace

In April 2014, Google acquired Titan Aerospace, engaged in the development of stratospheric drones. At the end of 2015 after the restructuring and formation of holding Alphabet project for the development of drones Titan Aerospace moved into the framework of lab X.

Now it is reported that the project team Titan Aerospace is closed, and this group of staff numbering over 50 people find work in other projects of Google and Google.

The reason for this decision is that Alphabet came to the conclusion that the project Loon is more promising from an economic and technical point of view. Recall drones Solara also had to participate in providing remote areas with Internet access.

You may recall that in 2015, one of the drones crashed due to a gust of wind. Also pay attention to the fact that yesterday we learned about the Alphabet intention to sell the company Terra Bella working in space satellites.
