Aitech A176 Cyclone — compact supercomputer in HD versions with passive cooling

Perhaps the most unusual supercomputer introduced established in 1983, Aitech Defense Systems. Under the designation A176 Cyclone in the range of the company is embedded supercomputer, the specific performance of which reaches 60 GFLOPS/watt. The system has enhanced performance and passive cooling.

To do passive cooling allowed low power consumption: typical value of this parameter is 8-10 watts, a maximum of 17 watts. High performance, 1 TFLOPS is provided by a GPGPU Nvidia with 256 CUDA cores architecture Maxwell. The system rests on a Quad-core ARM Cortex-A57, clocked at 1.9 GHz. Readers interested in this topic probably already guessed that we are talking about the module Nvidia Jetson TX1. A176 Cyclone configuration includes 4 GB of LPDDR4 memory, 16 GB flash memory (eMMC) and solid state drive with SATA SSD.

Applications of A176 Cyclone manufacturer considers tasks deep learning, computer vision and computing with GPUs, especially in harsh environments. This can be, for example, information of the command post, a video analysis with a UAV, processing other data reconnaissance and surveillance.

Dimensions A176 Cyclone is approximately equal to 11 x 11 x 3 cm, weight less than 1 kg. a Computer designed for operation at temperatures from -40°C to +70°C. It withstands rain, dust, suspended matter of sea water, corresponding to the requirements of the test MIL-STD-810G.
