According to Gartner, only Chinese company among the top five smartphone manufacturers boosted sales in the last quarter
Experts of the analytical company Gartner has summed up the third quarter of 2016 in the smartphone market. According to their calculations, over the three months were shipped altitude of 373.3 million of these devices, which is 5.4% more than in the third quarter of 2015, when it was shipped 354,2 million smartphones. I wonder what the total sales of smartphones and cell phones for the year fell by 1.3%.
Only three companies in the top five largest smartphone manufacturers managed to increase sales. It is significant that all three companies — Chinese: this BBK Communication Equipment, Oppo and Huawei, occupying respectively the fifth, fourth and third places. Share Huawei for the year increased from 7.7% to 8.7%, the share of Oppo — from 3.4% to 6.7%, the share of BBK Communication Equipment — 2.9% to 5.3%.
In second place, Apple has reduced the supply from 46.0 to 43,0 million. The result was a reduction in the share of Apple in the smartphone market from 12.0% to 11.5%.
Samsung, remaining the market leader for the year has reduced deliveries from 83.6 to 71.7 million units, bringing its share declined from 23.6% to 19.2%.
Interestingly, the Chinese company of the top five in total occupy 21% market share, ahead of not only Apple but also Samsung. Of course, this summation only partly correct, since only Oppo and BBK Communication Equipment owned by BBK Electronics, and Huawei is an independent manufacturer.
