According to estimates of IDC, sales of servers for the year decreased by 0.4%

Experts of the analytical company IDC has summed up the results of the second quarter of 2016 at the server market. In the published report says that the market in monetary terms amounted to 13.4 billion dollars, a decrease compared to the same period last year by 0.4%. Analysts attribute this to the influence of several factors. In particular, a slow expansion of large computing centers and reduce the demand on the model of the upper segment. In addition, he said active upgrading of corporate servers last year. Note that in quantitative terms the supply compared with the second quarter of 2015 grew by 2.6%, i.e. influenced by the decline in average sales prices. Just over a quarter were shipped 2.4 million servers.

Leadership in the market maintained by the company HPE, three months have sold servers for the amount 3,416 billion, which corresponds to 25.4% of market — so was last year’s measure.

In second place is Dell, which was able to increase its share from 17.5% to 19.3%.

Third place is IBM, whose share for the year decreased from 14.8% to 9.8%. Note that IBM continues to lose market share in the second quarter of 2014 the share of this company was equal to 23.4%.

The five largest suppliers of servers also includes the company Lеnovo and Cisco, the share of which is equal to 7.2% and 6.4%, respectively.
