According to estimates of IDC, sales of high-end servers grew by 3.9%

Analysts at IDC has prepared a report on the situation on the market of high-performance servers in the third quarter of 2016. According to their calculations, the market of these products in monetary terms for the year increased by 3.9% from 2.7 to 2.8 billion dollars.

If you add up the income of three quarters of 2016, it turns out 8.1 billion dollars. This is 3.4% more than the amount for the same period in 2015, equal to $ 7.8 billion.

In the distribution of income by segment, analysts note the increasing share of more expensive systems, resulting in an increase in income made possible even though in quantitative terms, the supply has decreased. For the first three quarters of 2015 was shipped 71 479 servers, while over three quarters of 2016 — 63 385 servers. The average sale price for the year increased from 109 280 127 $ 411 dollars.

The first place among suppliers of high-performance servers is HPE, which owns 35.8% of the market. In second place is Dell (18,5%), the third — Lenovo (8.6 per cent).
