According to estimates JPR for the year share AMD in the market of 3D cards has increased from 21.6% to 29.5%

Experts of the analytical company Jon Peddie Research (JPR) summed up the results of the next quarter in the market of 3D cards. This time they have compiled data for the fourth quarter of 2016.

As follows from prepared JPR report, shipments of 3D maps in comparison with the third quarter of 2016 increased by 5.6%. In the last ten years the market has declined on average by 4.7% per year. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2015 the market have grown by 21.1%. Interestingly, the desktop PC market over the same period declined by 10.9%.

Without giving the absolute values, the authors devoted the report a press release reporting that the share of AMD in the fourth quarter of 2015, which amounted to 21.6%, for the fourth quarter of 2016 was equal to 29.5 per cent. At the same time, the share of Nvidia in the fourth quarter of 2015, which amounted to 78.3%, for the fourth quarter of 2016 was equal to 70.5 per cent.

Analysts say that the growth of the supply to the demand for 3D cards for gaming PCs and workstations.
