According to estimates IDC, the year sales of equipment for wireless local area networks rose 6.7%

Experts of the analytical company IDC has summed up the results of the second quarter of 2016 for the market of equipment for wireless local area networks (WLAN) and issued a report.

According to estimates of IDC, sales of equipment for wireless local area networks rose 6.7% compared with the previous quarter and the second quarter of 2015. The growth in the corporate segment amounted to 9.4%, which is the best indicator for more than two years. Analysts attribute the growth of the next cycle of hardware upgrades.

In this segment dominated by the equipment of the standard 802.11 ac. The share of the respective access points in total sales for the quarter, made up of 59.89% in quantitative expression and 77,4% in monetary terms.

Growth in the consumer segment, analysts estimate 3.1%. It’s a little, but the growth recorded for the first time in 2014. It is noteworthy that the share of the equipment 802.11 ac in this segment in quantitative terms is only 22.6 percent. Share in monetary terms is equal to 51,3%.

In the second quarter of 2016 a leader among suppliers of equipment WLAN is Cisco, which is 43.7% of the global market. The company’s share Aruba-HP, in second place, equal to 14.6%. Third place goes to Brocade-Ruckus (6.8 percent), the fourth — Ubiquiti (4,2%), the fifth — Aerohive (2.7 per cent).
