According to estimates IDC, the WLAN equipment market in the first quarter of 2017 increased only 0.8%
Experts of the analytical company IDC has produced a report for the first quarter of 2017, related to equipment market wireless local area networks (WLAN).
According to analysts ‘ estimates, the market in monetary terms amounted to 2.15 billion dollars. The increase compared to the same quarter of 2016 amounted to only 0.8%. While in the corporate segment recorded growth of 4.4%, and in consumer segment sales, by contrast, declined by 7.0%. In monetary terms, these segments account for 1.24 and 0.91 billion, respectively.
In the corporate segment on a hardware that supports 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, account for 70.9% of supply in terms of quantity and 84.7% in monetary terms. Analyst expect that the equipment, which only support Wi-Fi 802.11 n, will be completely priced out of the market before the end of 2018.
Consumer segment moves to 802.11 ac slower. Until the corresponding access point constitute only 28.6% in quantitative expression and 58,2% in monetary terms (remember we are talking only about products that were shipped during the quarter).
Among suppliers of enterprise WLAN equipment leader Cisco with a market share of 43.4 per cent. In second place — HPE/Aruba (16,2%), the third — Ubiquiti (6.1 percent). The top five also includes companies Brocade-Ruckus (a 5.7% market share) and Huawei (3.7 percent).
