According to estimates IDC, the market for computer monitors for the year increased by 4.9%

IDC analysts have finished processing data for the second quarter of 2016 relating to the market monitor, issued a report. Allegedly during the reporting period were shipped 30.7 million monitors. This is 4.6% more than in the previous quarter, and 4.9% more than in the second quarter of 2015.

According to the report, the most common are monitors with screen sizes of 21.5 and 19.5 inches. They account for 22% and 12.2% of all deliveries respectively. The share of models with curved screens per year has more than doubled. For the quarter, it is 1.9%.

The largest supplier of monitors continues to be a Dell. For the quarter, it managed to ship 5.2 million monitors, which corresponds to the 17.0 per cent of the market. Share a year ago Dell was equal to 17.2% of the market.

Second place goes to HP, a quarter of those shipped 4.0 million monitors, which corresponds to 13.0% of the market. A year ago, HP’s share was 11.4%.

Third place goes to Lenovo, which share for the year decreased from 10.3% to 10.0%.

The top five also included Samsung and LG Electronics with rates of 9.6% and 9.2%, respectively. A year ago, Samsung had belonged to 11,0% of the market, LG Electronics is 8.8%.
