According to estimates IDC, in the second quarter of 2017 were shipped 37.9 million tablets, the market continues to decline
IDC analysts summed up the second quarter of 2017 in the tablet market. According to their calculations, over the three months from April to June was shipped 37.9 million tablets, which is 3.4% less than during the same period in 2016. To revive demand not helped even tablets with detachable keyboards, although consumer interest in the devices in this category analysts pinned their hopes on the resumption of growth.
The market leader remains Apple, and its share increased from 25.4% to 30.1%. In quantitative terms, this corresponds to an increase of supply from 10.0 to 11.4 mln devices.
In second place is Samsung. In the last quarter, it shipped as many devices as last year — 6.0 million pieces. However, due to the reduction in the market share of the South Korean manufacturer much increased from 15.4% to 15.8%.
Third place belongs to the Huawei, which for the year managed to increase its share from 5.3% to 8.0%. For the quarter, it shipped 3.0 million tablets.
The top five also includes companies Amazon.com and Lenovo, occupying 2.4% and 2.2% respectively.
