According to estimates from Strategy Analytics, the tablet market for the year decreased by 5%
Experts of the analytical company Strategy Analytics has summed up the last quarter in the tablet market. According to statistics, from July to September 2017 in the world shipped a total of 44.6 million of these devices. Given that in the third quarter of 2016 the volume of deliveries was equal to 46,9 million units, we can say that during the year, the tablet market shrank by 5%.
The industry leader is Apple. During the year it increased its shipments by 11% — from 9.3 to 10.3 million units, which led to increased market share owned by Apple, from 19.8% to 23.1%.
The share of Samsung, in second place, decreased from 14.0% to 12,5%, as the South Korean manufacturer has reduced deliveries from 6.6 to 5.6 million tablets.
Third place goes to Huawei for the year developing the supply from 2.5 to 3.2 million units, resulting in a share increase from 5.4% to 7.2%.
On the fourth place experts Strategy Analytics has put Lenovo. The Chinese manufacturer also increased its deliveries compared to last year — from 2.7 to 3.0 million units. This has led to the increase in the share of Lenovo from 5.8% to 6.7%.
Closes the top five of the Amazon, which demonstrated the largest increase in the relative supply by 25%, from 2.0 to 2.5 million units. Share Amazon for the quarter, equal to 5.6%. Year ago largest online shop took 4.3 percent of the tablet market.
