According to estimates from Strategy Analytics, the smartphone market grew by 6.1%, while Apple’s share declined to 14.4%
Experts of the analytical company Strategy Analytics has summed up the last quarter of the smartphone market. According to their calculations, for the three months from January to March were shipped 353.3 million smartphones. This is 6.1% more than last year, equal 333,1 million.
The industry leader is the company Samsung. During the year it increased its supplies from 79,0 to 80.2 million units. However, it was not enough to keep pace with market growth. As a result, the share of South Korean manufacturer for the year decreased from 23.7% to 22.7%.
Decreased and the share of Apple, in second place. This manufacturer has reduced deliveries from 51.2 to 50.8 million smartphones. As a result of its share decreased from 15.4% to 14.4%.
Shares of the companies Huawei, Oppo and Vivo, occupying the remaining places in the top five, increased. The share of Huawei — from 8.5% to 9.8%, the share of Oppo — from 4.7% to 7.8%, the share of Vivo from 4.1% to 6.3%.
