According to estimates by Gartner, sales of servers for the year decreased by 4.5%

The specialists of Gartner summed up the first quarter of 2017 in the server market. According to their calculations, for a year supply of servers was reduced in quantitative terms, by 4.2% in cash — 4.5%. In just three months the servers were 2.6 million units in the amount of 12.5 billion dollars.

The market leader remains HPE, but its share for the year declined slightly to 25.2% to 24.1%. For a quarter of the HP servers were sold for 3 billion dollars.

In second place is Dell EMC. Over the year, this manufacturer was able to increase sales from 2.27 to 2.37 billion dollars, which led to an increase in share from 17.3% to 19.0%.

Third place goes to IBM, whose share for the year decreased from 9.7% to 6.6%.

The top five also includes Cisco and Lenovo, the share of which is equal to 6.6% and 5.8%, respectively.
