According to DRAMeXchange, the situation with the supply of NAND flash memory deteriorates

DRAMeXchange analysts forecast a significant increase in contract prices for NAND in the current quarter, confirmed that the situation with the supply of these products is deteriorating. The main reason for the lack of named growing demand for memory for smartphones and SSD. In particular, it is expected that this year the penetration of SSDS in notebooks for the first time will exceed 30%. This was facilitated by the convergence of prices for HDD and SSD. As a result of the shortage prices went up and the delivery terms for plates with NAND chips and modules has increased.

Among the reasons for the shortages, analysts also referred to the difficulties that manufacturers face with the development of the production of flash memory with a volume layout (3D NAND).
