Approximately one in every four smartphone shipped last year were fitted with display type AMOLED. This means that there were about 370 million such panels. Digitimes Research analysts predict that this year the supply of panels such as AMOLED for smartphones, reached 452 million, and the share of smartphones with such screens will increase from 24.3% to 27.6%.
Analysts believe that growth will continue in subsequent years so that over time, the AMOLED screens will be the most common in smartphones. Already in 2021 AMOLED panels will be shipped 1,127 billion, and the share of smartphones with the appropriate screens will increase to 53.0%.
