According to CIPA, shipments of digital cameras increased compared to last year

Organization CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association in Japan), which unites Japanese manufacturers of photographic equipment, has published statistics on world shipments of digital cameras as of March 2017. CIPA as the data show, in March, shipments of digital cameras increased compared to last year.

In January of this year the digital camera was shipped 1.87 million units, which accounted for 98.3% of the figure for January 2016. However, in February delivery reached 107,1% from last year, and March — 102,7%. Only March 2017 were shipped 2,274 million cameras, while a year ago — 2,217 million

In the segment of cameras with interchangeable lenses in January increased by 5.9% in February — 117,3%. However, the March figure was equal to 97.9% of the figure for the same month of 2016. Only March 2017 were shipped 1,032 million cameras with interchangeable lenses.

In the segment of cameras with non-replaceable lenses January index was 92.9% last year, in February of 99.7%, and in March — 107,0%. In absolute terms this means that in March 2017 were shipped 1,242 million cameras with interchangeable lenses.
