A single-chip system MediaTek Helio P40 will have less cores than Helio P30

A single-chip system MediaTek Helio P30 was presented just a week ago, and the Network has already appeared rumors about the SoC Helio P40. And they are really interesting.

According to the source, with Helio P40 MediaTek will move to a new strategy, refusing to increase the number of processor cores. If Helio P30 CPU has eight cores Cortex-A53, Helio P40 will have only six cores.

In order not to lose the predecessor in performance, the SoC will have four Cortex-A53 and two Cortex-A73. Frequency is still unknown, as there is no data on the GPU. It is reported that this platform will be manufactured for 12-nanometer process technology.

The source suggests that Helio P40 can bring to market in the first quarter of next year, but it is unclear what the basis of this assumption.
