A former employee of TSMC arrested on suspicion of industrial espionage

One of the former employees of TSMC was accused of stealing technological secrets of the manufacturer. The engineer with the name of Xu (Hsu) allegedly took possession of the confidential information related to 28-nanometer manufacturing of semiconductor products.

Then Xu, according to the charges, gave this information to the company Shanghai Huali Microelectronics (HLMC), where he received certain position. However, the attacker was arrested before he started to work in HLMC.

According to the report, which refers to the source HLMC led a group of 50 engineers UMC, helping her in the transition to 28-nanometer production rates. Apparently, to do their job HLMC were collected through technology by TSMC.
