16-core AMD processor will operate at frequencies of 2.4-2.8 GHz with a TDP of 150 watts
A few days ago there were rumors that AMD is preparing a platform for high-performance HEDT processors with the model, which will have 16 cores. The source called platform X399.
The story gained a sequel. The new source reports that the processor will receive the LGA SP3r2, that is, like the Intel CPU, the legs will move into the connector on the system Board. The processor TDP is 150 W, which is correlated with the power consumption of Intel processors LGA 2011.
Interestingly, on the substrate will be two separate crystal. Probably each of them will be similar to those used for Ryzen 7. Monstrous CPU frequency will lie in the range of 2.4-2.8 GHz. Also confirmed the information about the Quad channel memory controller DDR4. Expected announcement is for four to six months, that is, in the second half.
